Home | Important Notes | (title page-p.50) | (pp. 51-100) | (pp. 101-160) | (pp. 161-217) IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THE FILES These files are a transcription of the book Chester County Swaynes, 2nd ed., by Norman Walton Swayne. The transcription is separated into four files for faster loading. They are still rather large, so please allow ample time for loading. IMPORTANT: These files look best with the font called "Courier New." Most people have this font already loaded on their computer. If this sentence looks different than the last one, then you already have it loaded, and you will have no problems. If not, you may download the Courier New font here. IMPORTANT: Every Swayne, born or adopted, was assigned a number by the author, Norman Walton Swayne. I converted these into interactive links, so you can move quickly to other individuals in the document. Please note that towards the end of the document, numbers are assigned to individuals who do not have any further information in the document. Therefore, these numbers do not have links. IMPORTANT: Like many other early Chester County, Pennsylvania families, the Swaynes were Quakers. Thus, many of their vital records, even into the 20th century, were recorded as "Quaker Dates." Most of the dates in this transcription are "Quaker Dates." These dates only contain numbers and not words for the months. Example: 9.18.1725. If you are not already aware of the problems that can arise with these dates, please check out Andria Fiegel Wolfe's Quaker Dates Page before doing any research with this transcription. USING THE INFORMATION Printing the transcribed files on this site and using the information in these files for research by non-commercial individuals and libraries is encouraged. Any other use, including copying files to other sites requires permission from the submitter before uploading to any other sites. This information may not be used for any commercial use without express written consent of both the transcriber, Joshua G. Reese; and the estate of the author, Norman Walton Swayne. If you wish to use the information from these files in a printed genealogy, GEDCOM, or any other medium of published genealogical data, it is requested that you use this bibliography statement: Swayne, Norman Walton.
